In order to maintain interest in this entry-level sports model, the Huracán, Lamborghini introduces new variants almost every year. This year, we are treated to the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, the newest addition to the lineup which made its very first Canadian debut at a private event taking place in Ontario.
Unveiled in world premiere in New York last April, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica was unveiled as a Canadian premiere at a private event held in the Toronto area.
The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica adds a bit of novelty to the range with its enhanced performance and increased lightness. Its 5.2-liter V10 engine comes from the Lamborghini Huracán STO and develops an output of 640 horsepower, which is 30 horsepower more than the Huracán EVO RWD model. This increased power allows it to do 0 to 100 km/h in around 3.2 seconds, which is barely faster than the EVO’s 3.3 seconds, but slower than the STO’s 3 seconds.
The car also benefits from a recalibrated LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) system including distinct driving modes, specific suspension, rear wheel steering and improvements to the brake cooling system. According to the manufacturer, these modifications allow the pilot to discover a perfect Huracán for every occasion.
The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica is already up for order, with a base price of $279,630. Of course, a panoply of options remain available.
The Huracán range includes six models this year: Technica, STO, EVO, EVO Spyder, EVO RWD and RWD Spyder.
The automaker recently announced record North American sales for 2021 and says that momentum continues in 2022 with more than 1,436 vehicles delivered, up 4% from the same period last year. The Urus, the brand’s high-performance SUV, has largely contributed to the sales increase at Lamborghini.
Even in the realm of the rich, it’s the novelty that sells. This is why the manufacturer offers new variants in order to satisfy the need for change of its customers.
