The Lakers get involved in the crazy transfer of Wesley Fofana!
This is one of the biggest blows of this transfer window: the prodigious French defender left Leicester City to join Chelsea for a record sum. A crazy transfer, which even involved… the Lakers. Explanations.
As well as being one of the best centre-backs in the world right now, Wesley Fofana has a knack for getting his way when he wants a transfer. After having forced his departure from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2020, « La Westt » has given the cover in order to leave a Leicester team which he already considered too little suited to his ambitions. I was thinking of doing my medical examination in London, and I learned that it would actually take place in New York! It was a quick trip but I spent a lot of time at the clinic. It was the Lakers doctor who supervised all the tests, he looked at everything. They examined my ankle, all peeled off, even parts of my body that I can’t talk about (he’s laughing)to see how I had come back from injury.
It lasted more than ten hours! Well, that’s normal given the amount spent. Todd and Behdad (Chelsea owners) were tops. They welcomed me to London and New York like a member of their family. I had never been to New York, but from what I saw from the cab, I will be going back.
Kristofer Jones, renowned Lakers doctor in charge of LeBron James and consorts, was therefore dispatched to the other end of the country to supervise the precious carcass of Wesley Fofana. It must be said that the young player has already been bothered by physical problems, so much so that his fragility seems to be the only obstacle that can prevent him from reaching the supreme elite in his position. Let’s hope the Angelinos doc did the trick.
The transfer of Wesley Fofana is decidedly XXL in all respects: more than 80 million euros, a visit to the United States and the chief medical officer of the Lakers sent there to supervise this very important medical visit.
