The Ferrari of families – Trends-Tendances on PC

Five years after announcing its arrival, Ferrari finally unveils its first SUV, called Purosangue (thoroughbred). The constructor with the prancing horse has therefore also succumbed to the fashion for cars on stilts. Five years after announcing its arrival, Ferrari finally unveils its first SUV, called Purosangue (thoroughbred). The constructor with the prancing horse has therefore also succumbed to the fashion for cars on stilts. But the line remains fine and the sports chassis: the machine revolves around an aluminum shell overhung by a carbon fiber roof, to contain the weight and lower the center of gravity. This Ferrari, however, exceeds the two-tonne mark when weighed… To keep it well balanced, the manufacturer has moved the engine as far back as possible (placed at the front) and installed the gearbox on the rear axle: the front/rear weight distribution is therefore ideal (49/51%), guaranteeing good balance in turns. To better bite the curves, the Purosangue also turns its rear wheels, while its active suspension reduces body roll to nothing. The heart of this thoroughbred is a purely thermal 6.5 liter V12 block. Understand that it does not encumber itself with any hybridization, not even slight. And no turbo blows into its connecting rods: this atmospheric engine breathes in the open air, which gives it a very aggressive character at high revs: the limiter only comes into action at 8,250 rpm. And we let you imagine the song… But it is of course from the inside that this Ferrari stands out from its sisters. In 75 years, it is the brand’s first with four doors. The rear leaves open in the opposite direction to the front leaves. It’s original and it also offers better access to the rear seats. However, this Ferrari is still not the tool for large families: it only has four seats and its trunk (accessible via a tailgate) is no larger than that of a BMW 3 Series sedan… flea markets are not the primary goal of the targeted clientele, who are impatiently awaiting the first deliveries, scheduled for mid-2023. It is whispered that the production of the first three years would already be reserved…
