The Ferrari/Octane126 on pole at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

We were rather expecting a BMW M4 GT3 on pole at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, but it’s finally the Ferrari 488 GT3 of the Swiss team Octane126 which will start from the lead position tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. Somewhat to everyone’s surprise, Luca Ludwig was the fastest of the session in 8:09.469. The Ferrari used for the meeting is a new chassis following an exit from the track in a qualifying race.

The teammate of Simon Trummer, Jonathan Hirshi and Björn Grossmann was ahead of Augusto Farfus on one of the two BMW M4 GT3/ROWE Racing. The Brazilian was credited with an 8:10.640. The Lamborghini Huracan GT3/Konrad Motorsport of Axcil Jefferies, Michele Di Martino, Jordan Pepper and Maximilian Häcklander took third fastest time (pole in Pro-Am).

Two Audi R8 LMS GT3 complete the top 5 with respectively Haase, Müller, Niederhauser and Rast on behalf of Audi Sport Team Car Collection, as well as Giermaziak, Beretta, Schramm and Winkelhock for Scherer Sport Team Phoenix.

The top-ranked Mercedes-AMG GT3 is that of Marciello, Stolz and Ellis (Mercedes-AMG Team Bilstein by HRT). Only one Porsche 911 GT3 R in the top 10 with Huber Motorsport for Thyssen, Rader, Menzel and Kern, 9th and 2nd in Pro-Am.
