Response at the end of March for Leonardo and Nasser
After the new disappointment of PSG in the Champions League in the round of 16 against Real Madrid, Nasser and Leonardo heckled the referees. PSG will have to answer for these acts that took place after the meeting. As a reminder, Paris Saint-Germain led 2-0 in the double confrontation until the 60th minute of the second match against Real before a hat-trick from Benzema.
Indeed, Leonardo and Nasser al-Khelaïfi would have spent their nerves on the arbitration which they consider responsible for the Parisian elimination. This behavior can earn them sanctions from FIFA. As such, the Fifa Disciplinary Committee will have to decide on March 29.
Penalties envisaged?
According to I‘Equipe, FIFA has opened a “disciplinary” case and sanctions against the Parisian leaders could see the light of day. On the other hand, the world football governing body says that if there are any sanctions, they will communicate them on the day. The leaders of PSG will therefore be fixed on March 29. Indeed, FIFA regulations state that “those having insulting behavior or otherwise contravening the basic rules of propriety may be sanctioned”.
As a result, Nasser al-Khelaïfi and Leonardo may incur fines or suspensions following their behavior against Real Madrid. Hard to believe, however, that the two men will come out unscathed after their behavior. Facts that do not suit PSG at all, when the club is already in turmoil.
