The Denver Broncos are officially for sale

Who wants to own an NFL franchise? If you have a large bank account, this offer is for you!

Selling a franchise is not a snap. Above all, you have to be patient, make the right choice and, in the end, take out the checkbook. On the Denver side, the sale of the franchise has been on the table for a few years now, but now it’s official: the Denver Broncos are for sale!

The Pat Bowlen Trust just officially announced it for what could be the biggest franchise sale in North America.

Pat Bowlen took over the Colorado franchise in 1984 and took it to the top three times in 1997, 1998 and 2015. Due to Alzheimer’s disease, Pat Bowlen left the helm in 2014 to the Pat Bowlen Trust. Due to Bowlen’s passing in 2019, selling the franchise was ever closer. John Elway and Peyton Manning tried to participate in the takeover of the franchise but the attempt did not materialize.

In a press release, Broncos President Joe Ellis hopes to complete the sale before the start of the 2022 season.

“The Pat Bowlen Trust today announced the start of a sale process for the Denver Broncos. We have retained Steve Greenberg of Allen & Company as financial advisor and Joe Leccese of Proskauer Rose LLP as legal advisor for this ownership transition. Selling an NFL team is a complex process involving many parties and league approval procedures. Nonetheless, administrators hope the sale will be completed by the start of the 2022 NFL season. The Broncos are a special franchise that is part of the fabric of this region and anyone who emerges as a new owner will certainly understand what the team means to our great fans and this community. »

The last franchise sale was Carolina in 2018 by David Tepper for a price of $2.275 billion. It is estimated that the sale of the Broncos could reach 4 billion dollars.
