The date of the 60th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona is known. The Florida event, which will kick off the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, will be held January 29-30. In addition to the DPi, LMP2, LMP3 and GTD categories, the 2022 Rolex 24 will see the debut of the new GTD-Pro class which replaces the GTE. The official teams will switch to GT3.
The event will start on Thursday January 27 with trials for the different categories. Friday January 28 will be devoted to the BMW Endurance Challenge race over a 4-hour format which will mark the first Michelin Pilot Challenge meeting.
Like this year, the Daytona International Speedway will welcome competitors for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 from January 21 to 23. The qualifications which will determine the starting grid will take place on Sunday 23 January. Some tickets can already be ordered on the circuit website.
