The curse of Dairy Queen is not to be taken lightly

The sports world is full of curses of all kinds.

The most famous is arguably the Madden video game curse, where the athletes who appear on the cover of the game, have a tough season afterwards.

There was also the curse of the Bambino. No, it’s not the curse of your 8-inch pizza at your favorite restaurant.

The story goes that the Red Sox were cursed when they sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1920.

Boston was enjoying great success with the Bambino in its ranks, winning 5 World Series titles in 15 years in the early 1900s.

Except that the departure of George Herman Ruth plunged the Sox into a great darkness of 86 years. It was not until 2004 that the punishment was broken.

The Curse of Dairy Queen

Are we witnessing the birth of a new curse? That of Dairy Queen.

It’s that the company that specializes in blizzards « that you’re turning upside down to prove that soft ice cream doesn’t last long, » chose four baseball players at the start to promote its products: Bryce Harper, Tim Anderson, Fernando Tatis, Cody Bellinger.

But let’s say it soured a bit.

Bryce Harper suffered a broken thumb in late June.

Tim Anderson is also on the long-term injured list.

Since being named the 2019 National League MVP, Cody Bellinger has been cold as a Dairy Queen cake in my mom’s freezer. He must be jealous of the milkshake when he sees his batting average.

And Fernando Tatis Jr. was suspended for 80 games for doping.

It’s going well huh!

As you can see, the curse of Dairy Queen is not to be taken lightly. To be taken with 35% cream, let’s say.
