The competition results in an unprecedented version with only 8 teams due to the health context in Martinique. The matches will be played from November 3 to 13, 2021.
At the end of a large consultation meeting by videoconference on Tuesday evening (October 12, 2021) with the club presidents, the Martinique football league decides to resume the season with the Coupe de France.
Eight teams have been identified for an unprecedented version in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. These are the six teams that had participated in the 6 Majo tournament (final tournament of the Regional 1 championship: Golden Lion of Saint Joseph, Club Franciscain du François, Club Colonial de Fort-de-France, RC Saint Joseph, Essor Préchotin , Samaritaine of Sainte Marie as well as the Assault of Saint Peter and the Aiglon du Lamentin, the two formations which finished in 4th place in their respective groups, last season.
This 2021 French Cup will be played in a fairly short time: November 3, 4, 6,7,12 and 13, 2021.
A next meeting will be held with the clubs concerned.
Some presidents of other clubs have expressed their discontent feeling aggrieved, even arguing of a financial loss.
