Steve Swift, senior vice president of operations and development for Speedway Motorsports, said the dirt track at Bristol Motor Speedway was ready. He added that the task was completed about two weeks ahead of schedule.
The track will host the Bristol Dirt Nationals from March 20 to April 2. Next will come the Truck Series (April 16) and the NASCAR Cup Series (April 17), followed by the World of Outlaws from April 28-30.
The track uses the same dirt as last year. It had been stored near the runway.
Following feedback from the drivers, officials adjusted the slope of the track. Swift said banking will now be more progressive, more slanted up than down.
“Discussing with several drivers, they felt that it would make the race much better and the track as well. Several trajectories should thus have been possible. »
The incline of the Bristol dirt track is 19 degrees top, 18 degrees middle and 16 degrees bottom.
