Ted Lasso, Apple series sign Premier League deal: details

The Premier League, England’s most important football league, has struck a lucrative deal with Apple TV series Ted Lasso. The deal is signed on the basis of £ 500,000 and allows producers to use archival images and Premier League logos, club uniforms and even the trophy.

Ted Lasso is based on a simple premise: Recently divorced football club owner hires incompetent coach to sabotage the team, AFC Richmond, in a bid to get revenge on her cheating ex-husband, big fan of the club.

Lasso, an American football coach with no skill in the matter, is the unwitting pawn of his revenge, but his relentless optimism and honesty soon wins the locker room and the fans. Ted Lasso also became a horror film, thanks to a video made by fans.
The show is the highest rated Apple TV + program in all major international markets where the streamer is available.
At last month’s Emmy Awards, the series was nominated as a Comedy Series, with the awards going to Jason Sudeikis, star of the series, Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein.
Sudeikis also won a Golden Globe for his performance. The cast also includes Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Jeremy Swift.
