Team Penske does its Double Duty

By winning its 19th Indy 500 on Sunday and its 3rd Coca Cola 600 on Monday, the Team Penske with more than 600 victories entered a little more in the history of motorsport.

For a driver, participating on the same day in these two races is called a Double Duty. Kyle Larson has also launched this challenge for 2024: What is the « Double Duty » attempted by Kyle Larson?

Participating in both events consecutively is obviously a superhuman challenge for a driver, but winning them both is a page in the history of motorsport yet to be written. On the other hand, we can now declare that Team Penske is the first team to have achieved this feat. Josef Newgarden won the Indianapolis 500 on behalf of “Captain” Roger Penske’s team, while Ryan Blaney won the Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte.
