Tarasenko helps Blues stay undefeated


The St. Louis Blues won their third straight game to start the season, 3-1 over the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday.

This is the first three-game road winning streak to start a season in Blues history, as well as their first 3-0-0 start since 2017-18.

Jordan binnington made 42 saves and Brandon saad scored his first goal for St. Louis.

Vladimir Tarasenko broke the tie at 9:49 of the third period. Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo lost the puck in neutral territory, leading to a 3-on-0 climb for the Blues, capped by Tarasenko following a Jordan kyrou.

Robin lehner rejected 35 throws, and William karlsson scored the Golden Knights goal (1-2-0).

Karlsson opened the scoring at 8:17 of the first period completing a 2-on-1 with Reilly smith on his own comeback after his initial shot was stopped by Binnington.

Saad offered the reply for St. Louis at 3:21 of the second twenty. The forward, who signed a five-year, $ 22.5 million contract with the Blues on July 29, hit home with the return of the shot from David Perron.

Ivan Barbashev secured the victory for the Blues by throwing into an empty net at 18:48 of the third period.
