We now know the identity of the 16 teams participating in the Stanley Cup playoffs. So we had fun reproducing the same playoff branches in NHL 21 to try to predict who would be the 2021 Stanley Cup champions. Note that at the start of the season, the simulation of the full season gave the Avalanche as champions.

Starting from the playoff tree below, I’ve recreated it in NHL 21 Playoffs mode making sure the AI is at its toughest.
Champions: Tampa Bay Lightning
It is therefore the Tampa Bay Lightning who would win the top honors by beating the Boston Bruins in the final in 5 games. Unfortunately, the CH would be eliminated in the first round in 6 games by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As for it, the official simulation of EA Sports gives the Bruins as champions.
The Lightning was worn by Nikita Kucherov who finished the Stanley Cup playoffs with no less than 20 goals and 35 points!
Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with a 2.44 goals-against average and .922% save percentage.
As for the Montreal Canadiens, Tomas Tatar leads with 2 goals and 5 points in 6 games. Cole Caufield ends his series with 1 goals and 1 assist in 6 games. Fortunately, our simulation of his career is more than promising!
Carey Price fell short with a 3.21 goals against average and .903% save percentage.
