Tampa Bay Lightning acquire Brent Seabrook contract for Tyler Johnson and a second
The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Brent Seabrook in exchange for forward Tyler Johnson and a second-round pick in 2023.
Seabrook, whose contract ends after the 2023-24 season, will go to LTIR in Tampa. Shedding Johnson’s contract helps create ceiling space for the Lightning.
For the Blackhawks, they can save money while also getting Johnson a useful player and a second-round pick in return.
After trading Seabrook for Johnson and saving $ 1.875m in Cap Hit, #Blackhawks have a ceiling space of $ 1.8 million with a total of 23 on the projected list (13F / 7D / 3G).
May potentially exceed the $ 3.9 million cap with Shaw on LTIR.
