Taïder sapphire free as air

The adventure in Saudi Arabia of former Montreal Impact midfielder Saphir Taïder would be over.

On Friday, the specialist website dzfoot.com reported that the 29-year-old athlete and the Al Ain club had decided to end their association by mutual agreement. The athlete’s three-year deal was therefore terminated 11 months after joining the Saudi Pro League squad.

The former Montrealer finally only played seven games with the Saudi team, amassing three goals and an assist. Taïder injured his Achilles tendon in February, which prematurely ended his campaign.

Previously, the Frenchman of Algerian origin played three seasons as designated player with the Impact. In 76 appearances in Major League Soccer, he has moved the ropes 20 times and participated in 21 goals for his teammates.
