If the best-selling connected watch in the world is undoubtedly the Apple Watch, “real” watch brands like TAG Heuer manage to hold their own by offering attractive models. So yes, it’s a little more expensive since you have to pay for the watchmaking know-how of this Swiss house, but the watchmaking-technology combo works rather well. Demonstration with the new connected watch designed with Porsche: the TAG Heuer Connected Caliber E4 – Porsche Edition.
For Frédéric Arnault, President of TAG Heuer, “the pleasure of driving is present as much in the history of Tag Heuer as in that of Porsche, and this watch pays homage to the intrepid spirit of the two brands while underlining the sustainable innovation of the Taycan.” For the uninitiated, the Taycan is the first 100% electric Porsche. Frédéric Arnault adds that “this watch evokes the many passions we share: cutting-edge performance, technological innovation and our love for unique and unparalleled products”.
The case of this TAG Heuer Connected Caliber E4 – Porsche Edition is quite large, 45 mm, and made of black titanium with some ice blue metallic details. The polished black ceramic bezel goes from 0 to 400, like on a Porsche speedometer. In terms of “connected watch”, this bezel will allow you to display your heart rate, for example. Tag Heuer also specifies that its watch “has a large number of state-of-the-art fitness features including guided workouts integrated into the TAG Heuer Sport application of the watch.” If you have a sporting heart, you can therefore follow your training in real time on the application. And in times when you are less or not at all, you will enjoy an elegant watch in line with the brand’s models, with here a dial inspired by electronic printed circuits and motor racing circuits.
