T3 Motorsport with Lamborghini at Daytona

The Dresden-based team will field a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo in the 24 Hours of Daytona, the first round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on January 29-30. It will do so in partnership with the American company Southern Motorsports, which specializes in single-seaters and Trans Am.

T3 Motorsport raced Southern Motorsports driver John Paul Southern Jr. in ADAC GT4 Germany this year. The team also raced in the DTM with two full-time Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evos for Esteban Muth and Esmee Hawkey, and in GT Masters with a single Lamborghini.

The driver roster for his IMSA debut at Daytona has yet to be announced. We know, however, that the team will register under the name of T3 Motorsport North America for its competition activities in the United States.

The car’s design symbolizes the German team’s commitment to the United States. That’s why the front and back are visually matched to the American flag. The black, red and gold colors on the side represent the German flag.

Please note: the Lamborghini program of T3 Motorsport should not be confused with the 24 Hours of Daytona program of TR3 Racing, which also works with the Italian manufacturer (read HERE).
