Super League – The semi-final in everyone’s mind – Rugby League
After this incredible victory at Golden Point against the Saints, the Catalan Dragons must quickly refocus before the finals.
Premier of the regular season for the first time in its history, the Catalans Dragons have had an absolutely fantastic season. Between the executives who responded and the young people who emerged, the team has had an almost perfect season so far. Still, this honorary title does not guarantee the Dragons a title. Indeed after the euphoria we must already think of the semi-final which thanks to this first place allows the team to receive at the Gilbert Brutus stadium. A great advantage that, well negotiated, would send the Catalans to Old Trafford to play their first Super League final in history.
But it will be necessary to avoid being scared as during the Magic Weekend because a rise of the kind does not take place every week and all the more during a chopper match in the final phase. Coach Steve McNamara was well aware of this and has already warned his troops. The game against Huddersfield, the last home reception will also have to be taken seriously as the following weekend the Dracs will travel to Wigan where it is never easy to travel.
Players will need to take these two games as serious preparation before they get to know their future opponent in the quest for the title.
