Super League – James Ford leaves York for an assistant role in the Super League – Rugby League
After eight seasons as York’s head coach, James Ford joins Wakefield as an assistant.
He had a contract until the end of the 2024 season, but James Ford wanted to take on a new challenge after many seasons at the helm of York. In particular, he became the club’s first full-time coach in 2018 and he also managed to qualify the club several times for the final stages of the Championship. He goes up a floor by joining Wakefield where he will be the assistant to the new coach appointed a few weeks ago, Mark Applegarth.
Wakefield Trinity can today announce the appointment of James Ford as Assistant Coach, whilst also confirming Mark Applegarth’s full backroom team for the 2023 season.
