The 15th day of the Super League opens with a first match between Huddersfield and Hull FC, two teams with different goals.
Huddersfield is having a complicated season and wanted to redeem himself at home against Hull FC who for their part are trying to secure the playoffs. Carlos Tuimavave quickly opened the scoring for Hull FC 0-6 but McGillvary then rookie Nathan Peats scored 2 tries which gave the Giants back the lead 10-6. A short-lived advantage as Vulikijapani scored for Hull who now leads 10-12. Lane will increase the lead of the Airlie Birds (10-16) but the end of the first period will be for Huddersfield. The Giants will register 3 tries in the last 9 minutes by Yates, McGillvary for his 2nd try of the game and Will Pryce. None of the tries are transformed but the Giants return to the locker room with a score in their favor 22-16.
Important victory for the maintenance
On the restart, Huddersfield remains on the same course and will score first in this second period. McGillvary, again, marks his third try of the evening and allows the Giants to lead 28-16. But Hull FC reacts and it is again the Fijian winger Vulikijapani who brings back his (28-20). Hope was short-lived and Huddersfield picked up the game to his advantage. The indefatigable McGillvary scores his 4th try of the evening (34-20). Hull can no longer do it offensively and it is Leroy Cudjoe who takes the opportunity to give a bigger advantage to the Giants (40-20). At 3 minutes from time, Chris Satae reduced the mark for FC but it was too late to win the match (40-26). The end of the match is stormy, Josh Jones and André Savelio each receive a red card on the siren. The match ends and the Giants claim a great home victory.
