Austin FC continued their strong start to the season by beating Inter Miami CF 5-1 at Q2 Stadium on Sunday, powered by a brace from Sebastian Driussi and Ethan Finlay.
Julio Cascante also blacked out the scoresheet for Austin FC.
Leonardo Campana scored the visitors’ only goal.
Austin FC opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as Driussi got his first of the game after a good team effort.
Cascante scored four minutes later, blaming Inter goalkeeper Clément Diop.
Driussi scored twice after the half-time break in the 51st minute.
Miami reduced the lead to two goals when Campana netted the visitors’ only goal a few minutes later. But any hope of a comeback for Inter Miami was extinguished when Finlay added goals in the 64th and 90th minutes to complete the 5-1 tally.
