Still no victory for the TFC

Like CF Montreal, Toronto FC failed in their bid for a first win in this third week of Major League Soccer (MLS) activity.

The Queen City team was defeated 2-1 by the Crew in Columbus on Saturday. Unlike the Quebec club, the TFC has accumulated one point so far in 2022. Indeed, it drew against FC Dallas at the start of the campaign.

Going back to the matchup of the day, Toronto saw their rivals score twice in the second half to come from behind and win. Lucas Zelarayan (56th) and Derrick Etienne (65th) were the authors of these successes.

The visitors had given themselves a slim lead from the 14th minute of play. Jesus Jiménez skillfully redirected Alejandro Pozuelo’s cross into the opposing cage. It was Jiménez’s second goal and third point in as many games this season.

In short

In Florida, Inter Miami defender Brek Shea was shown a red card halfway through the game and Los Angeles FC took advantage to win 2-0. Kwadwo Opoku and Ismael Tjouri-Shadi moved the ropes in this duel.
