Squad, transfers and goals

While waiting for the resumption of the National championship scheduled for Friday August 12, the editorial staff of WeSport offers you a daily focus on a resident of this 2022-2023 edition. Today, spotlight on the Red Star.

Red Star’s record last season:

The Red Star has just had a very disappointing National 2021-2022. Never in the game to play the climb, the Audoniens even had to fight to avoid a descent into National 2 which would have dealt a heavy blow to the club. Only 11th, the men of Habib Beye, who arrived last October, are expected to turn this season.

The movements of the off-season:

A new era begins at Red Star. Indeed, the club was bought at the end of last season by the American investment fund, 777 Partners. For its first transfer window under the American flag, the Red Star has bet on continuity. Already present last season, Fodé Doucouré, Issouf Macalou, Moussa Guel and Blondon Meyapya have this time signed up definitively with the Audonian club. Fred Dembi (Orléans), Ryad Hachem (Cholet) and Pépé Bonet (Rennes) complete this recruitment. On the departure side, we note that of the National’s top scorer last year, Pape Meissa Ba towards Grenoble.

Arrivals : Pépé Bonet (Rennes), Kemo Cissé (Paris 13 Atlético), Fred Dembi (Orléans), Fodé Doucouré (Reims), Alioune Fall (Beroe), Moussa Guel (Valenciennes), Ryad Hachem (Cholet), Issouf Macalou (Valenciennes), Blondon Meyapya (Fauve Azur)

Departures : Paul Charruau (Amiens), Guillaume Bosca (Marignane-Gignac), Edouard Daillet (Paris 13 Atlético), Owen Maes (Sedan), Pope Meissa Ba (Grenoble), Mayoro N’Doye (Nancy), Michaël Nilor (Free)

Red Star squad:

Here is the current Red Star squad for this new season of National.

Goalkeepers: William Avognan, Pepe Bonet, Ludovic Butelle

Defenders: Nathanaël Dieng, Fodé Doucouré, Aniss El Hriti, Younès Ghabaoui, Ryad Hachem, Josué Homawoo, Loic Kouagba, Stephane Sparagna, Jason Tre

Midfielders: Noah Cadiou, Fred Dembi, Cheikh N’Doye, Thibault Vialla

Forwards: Hacène Benali, Kemo Cissé, Damien Durand, Alioune Fall, Moussa Guel, Jovany Ikanga, Issouf Macalou

Red Star: ambitions and rankings

This season should be placed under the sign of the transition for the men of Habib Beye. With a more limited workforce than its competitors, it is difficult to see the Red Star ranking in the first two places. A place at the top of the table would already be a great progression for the Audonians.

Player to watch:

Author of a good second half of the season with the red star, Fodé Doucouré is definitely committed with the last 11th of National. The player trained in Reims will thus finally launch his professional career. Under Habib Beye, the 21-year-old could take on another dimension this season.

The Red Star schedule:

The Saint-Ouen-based club will start its season with a trip to Stade Briochin. Then will come the first at Stade Bauer with the reception of Villefranche. The Audoniens will end the first leg with a shock against Le Mans at home. Finally, Habib Beye’s men will conclude their season with the reception of Stade Briochin.
