Spain’s Alejandro Pozuelo named best player of the season in MLS

Spanish attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo was named the best player in the Major League Soccer (MLS) North American championship on Monday. The 29-year-old, originally from Sevilla and who has played for Toronto FC since 2019, has provided 10 assists this season and scored nine goals.

Pozuelo, also passed by Genk (2015-2019), obtained 35.4% of the vote. He edged Los Angeles FC forward Diego Rossi (17.8%), second, and Seattle’s Nicolas Lodeiro (10.6%), third.
