Socios aiming for the top corner with Major League Soccer (MLS)

It’s a winning doublet for Socios! – Last March, the fan token platform Socios entered into a partnership with UEFA. This month, Socios teamed up with Major League Soccer (MLS). This partnership gives him access to the biggest football clubs in the United States.

On May 4, 2022, the Major League Soccer (MLS) announced that it had reached an agreement multi-year partnership with the fan token platform Socios. Through the Socios platform, MLS will be able to offer unique experiences and fan rewards who engage with one or more of the 26 partner clubs. However, for now, no fan token and no specific events have been announced:

Finally, according to Statista data, in 2019 the MLS collected $816 million of total revenue thanks to the ticket sales and merchandising made with 8.6 million fans.

With the signing of this partnership, Socios is now associated with more than 125 teams distributed in 8 international leagues. The majority of these partnerships provide for the creation of fans tokens that buyers can use to participate in events, or obtain benefits.

In addition to these fan tokens, Socios offersissue non-fungible tokens (NFTs) especially for European football teams thanks to its collaboration with the Chiliz platform (CHZ). This collaboration between Socios and Chiliz also allowed them to sign marketing partnerships with 13 American Football League (NFL) teams, with the aim of creating NFTs.

Regarding the announcement of the partnership between Socios and MLS, it seems not to have been unanimous among American football fans. In effect, lots of negative comments were left on Twitter. The majority of these comments underline their dissatisfaction with the partnerships already concluded between Socios and European football leagues.

Therefore, it will be advisable to remain attentive in the coming months to the adhesion of American football fans to the Socios platform.
