The third round of the Coupe de France continues this Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 3 p.m.

Five clubs, after the elimination of Villers Houlgate on penalties yesterday, from the Pays d’Auge (Dives-Cabourg, CA Lisieux, Pont-l’Evêque, Livarot and Honfleur) will try to reach the 4th round of the Coupe de France which constitutes a first objective for the clubs insofar as the rest of the competition, in the vast majority of cases, will be done with the official jerseys of the Coupe de France.

Five qualified clubs is also a very meager record after only two rounds played… a complicated record, in particular linked to a series of difficult penalty shootouts for Trouville-Deauville, Mézidon and Rivière Saint-Sauveur, all of whom failed in this exercise… and all against teams of a lower level.

Home

Three clubs from the Pays d’Auge will still play at home this Sunday, September 11, 2022: Livarot, CS Honfleur and Pont-l’Evêque. Livarot, first of all, will be opposed to Jullouville. Faced with a team of R3, which is moreover at home, the Livarotaises chances will be certain because a single division separates the two teams in the hierarchy of French football. Now, the matter will not be simple. Jullouville, who plays in group B of R3, opened the championship with a big victory at Saint-James (0-3) while Livarot bit the dust with the score of 5-0 at Courseulles. Even if the truth of the championship is not necessarily that of the Coupe de France, the mobilization will have to be general to hope to continue the adventure.

Meanwhile, Pont-l’Evêque will have, on paper, an even more difficult task with the reception of Saint-Sébastien. The Pontépiscopiens, who were exempt on the first day of the departmental championship 1, will have fewer benchmarks than their opponent of the day: Saint-Sébastien who plays in group D of R2. The latter even started the season rather well with a 2-1 victory against Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray. Two divisions apart, an adversary in form, Pont-l’Evêque will have to achieve a feat to continue the adventure.

Finally, CS Honfleur will finally play at home. The Honfleur, who were sought their qualification in Troarn, will receive Conches. Against a team of R3, which qualified on green carpet, the Honfleurais will, for sure, have a place to continue the adventure, especially since Conches fell on their ground against Serquigny (2- 1) at the start of the championship.

Outside

Two clubs from the Pays d’Auge will also play away. SU Dives-Cabourg, national 3, will start in this competition with a trip to Darnetal. On paper, there is a world of difference between the two teams. SU Dives-Cabourg is evolving five divisions higher than its future opponent. The Divais, who have already played two league matches, should undoubtedly have more arguments to make. Matthieu Chevreau’s men will, however, have to exercise caution insofar as Darnetal largely won their first league match at Bussy (5-0) and therefore necessarily won their first two cup matches.

Outside too, CA Lisieux will travel to Beaumont-le-Roger. Faced with a team from R3, which won its first league match at Neubourg, the Lexoviens will leave, despite everything, with the favors of the prognosis, especially if they are in the mood for the Mézidon match.

All matches will take place this Sunday at 3 p.m.
