On October 17, US Chantrigné had a gala match against Stade Lavallois, a National 1 club. A few months later, « after quickly falling back down to earth », the team coached by Elouan Legentil finished 4th in D1. This season, the Chantrignéens want to do at least as well in the league and « why not try to do it again in the Coupe de France ».
For the 3e times at 3e round
For three seasons, Chantrigné has always at least passed the 2nd round.
“We always have the motivation to pass the 3rd round to get the famous jerseys. It’s the carrot »
On Sunday September 4, the Nord-Mayenne club won 4-0 against Commer. “We may have favorable draws but we can still say that we are a Cup team, says the Mayenne coach who found his system of play thanks to the Coupe de France. We were playing 4-2-3-1 then we switched to 3-5-2 and I realized that this system worked quite well. »
If Elouan Legentil admits that their match against Stade Lavallois did not change anything at the club, he salutes the reception of Tango:
“They were very accessible to young people. They give back the beautiful image of football that we love. »
After the match, Julien Maggiotti had offered to offer places to a Chantrignéen player. “Yes, he had them,” confirms Elouan Legentil. The club had been invited to attend a meeting at Francis-Le-Basser.
On the financial side, Chantrigné did not take advantage of the match to fill the coffers either. “That was not the goal. We wanted to make the match accessible to everyone to celebrate football, ”slips the coach.
3rd round draw: Chantrigné (D1) travels to La Bazoge FC (Regional 3) this Sunday, September 11 at 3 p.m. at the Joël-Le Theule stadium in La Bazoge (72).
