Swiss Simona De Silvestro will become the first female driver to compete full time in the highly regarded Australian V8 Supercars Championship.

After starting at the highest level of karting at the end of the 2000s, the young Swiss, now aged 28 – she was born on September 1, 1988 in Thun – then headed for the United States, at the beginning from the 2005 season.
