Simakan will join RB Leipzig next summer

RB Leipzig have already found a replacement for Dayot Upamecano, who will sign with Bayern Munich next summer. The German club has closed the Mohamed Simakan case to strengthen its defense, which arrives from Strasbourg.

Mohamed Simakan is fixed on his future. The 20-year-old French defender will leave Strasbourg and Ligue 1 to join RB Leipzig from next season. A real revelation of recent months, the young talent will be able to finish the season with the Alsatian club, where he was trained and has since revealed himself.

Undisputed holder at RCSA this season, Mohamed Simakan was in the sights of several major European teams, including AC Milan. But it was ultimately RB Leipzig who secured their signature for next July. The French will replace his compatriot Dayot Upamecano, who will fly to Bayern Munich, who will pay the release clause of the 22-year-old defender.

On the RB Leipzig side, the leaders secured the signature of Mohamed Simakan before agreeing to the departure of Dayot Upamecano. Able to evolve as a central defender but also a right-back, the player from Marseille will therefore have a first experience abroad after two professional seasons in France.

The transfer of Mohamed Simakan will pay big for Strasbourg, which is expected to recover nearly 15 million euros according to German media reports. Or the amount received by the RCSA during the transfer last summer of Youssouf Fofana to AS Monaco.
