Shaq betrayed by a former teammate: « I would not choose him »
A true basketball monster, Shaquille O’Neal has played with a hell of a lot of teammates during his career in the NBA. While some appreciate him to the point of venerating him, others are a little more reserved. One of them notably said that he wouldn’t take it if he had to choose between himself and another legendary pivot!
If one were to associate a player’s name with the phrase « being in the right place at the right time », Robert Horry’s would come to the top of the list. The interior shooter was indeed champion on seven occasions between 1994 and 2007, and this in three different franchises! Incidentally, he managed to participate in both a double (94 and 95 with Houston) and a threepeat (2000-2002 with the Lakers).
It also means that he was able to evolve alongside two legends such as Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquille O’Neal. And precisely, Big Shot Rob was asked about these during an interview with The Ringer. Horry notably conceded that he would choose the Rocket every day over the Big Diesel:
If you could pick between Hakeem or Shaq to join your team, who are you choosing and why? pic.twitter.com/7DgcEZ8kKx

If you could choose between Hakeem and Shaq to join your team, which would you choose and why?
“Hakeem was better. Shaq was more dominant, but Hakeem was better. … I think Dream was more talented. Shaq had handle, but Dream had a little more. Dream could take free throws, and we all know Shaq’s free throws. He had a fadeaway. «
A very strong opinion, even if it is not devoid of logic. Far from being as powerful as the Shaq, Olajuwon was on the other hand light years away from everyone in terms of technique, especially at the post. You don’t develop an almost indefensible move like the Dream Shake just like that.
If we wanted to take the subject further, it would have been interesting to know if his opinion would differ with Tim Duncan included in the discussion. After all, Horry won two rings with the Spur in 2005 and 2007. We can in any case say that the guy will have rubbed shoulders with very good people during his successful career.
Robert Horry has decided, it is Hakeem Olajuwon who has his preference rather than the Shaq. We can not wait to hear what he has to say on the subject, he who is never the last to answer.
