Sergio Ramos in the PSG group to face Lorient
It’s a small event. Sergio Ramos, for the second time in a row, is in the group called up by Mauricio Pochettino for the last match of 2021, this Wednesday evening, in Lorient. The Spanish defender was already present on Sunday where he played the first 45 minutes of the 32nd final of the Coupe de France against Feignies-Aulnoye (N3, 3-0).
Lionel Messi, Marquinhos and Idrissa Gueye, spared last weekend, are also summoned. Ditto for Angel Di Maria, remained on the bench in Valenciennes. Achraf Hakimi is back from suspension and Nuno Mendes from injury. Young Xavi Simons and Édouard Michut (18) should also be on the move after their encouraging performance on Sunday. No less than eight elements are still missing, including Verratti and Mbappé, suspended.
Neymar expected in early January
Neymar and Draxler continue their care and recovery work after their worries, respectively to an ankle and a thigh. The Brazilian star is expected in training at the end of January while the German must resume with the group at the beginning of January, on the resumption.
Colin Dagba (right ankle sprain), Layvin Kurzawa (left calf) and Juan Bernat (thigh) are unavailable. Rafinha, ill last weekend but trained this week, is also unlikely to be on the road.
Due to the absence of Mbappé and Neymar, the two offensive elements, which give depth to the game, Pochettino could be tempted to evolve in 3-4-3, with a 100% Argentinian attack line (Di Maria , Messi and Icardi) and the defensive trio made up of Marquinhos, Ramos and Kimpembe. Hakimi and Nuno Mendes would frame the pair of midfielders, with Gueye and Paredes or Wijnaldum.
