Seattle Kraken’s alleged choices
Several Seattle Kraken picks are being revealed ahead of Wednesday night’s expansion draft.
Journalist Salim Nadim Valji reports that Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano will be packing for the port city. Frank Seravalli indicates for his part that Jared McCann would be elected to the Toronto Maple Leafs and that Brandon Tanev would be drawn from the Pittsburgh Penguins. One of the more surprising choices would be the selection of left winger Carsen Twarynski of the Philadelphia Flyers, as Jakub Voracek and James van Riemsdyk were on display.

Ron Francis would have shunned two other big contracts with the Nashville Predators, said Chris Johnston. Indeed, he would opt for Calle Jarnkrok while Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen were available. The Kraken would, however, get their hands on at least one renowned striker by drawing Jordan Eberle from the New York Islanders.
It also seems that Vladimir Tarasenko will not be claimed on the side of the St. Louis Blues; the Kraken would have preferred defenseman Vince Dunn, according to Seravalli. As for goaltenders, Chris Driedger of the Florida Panthers, Vitek Vanecek of the Washington Capitals and Joey Daccord of the Ottawa Senators would be the Kraken’s picks.

This means that the young Kaapo Kahkonen, of the Minnesota Wild, would have been ignored, so that defenseman Carson Soucy would be the selected player.
Also, the Seattle formation would not have come to an agreement with the future free agent without compensation Gabriel Landeskog, according to information from Pierre Lebrun. Landeskog would therefore not be the Kraken’s choice for the Colorado Avalanche. It is rather to Joonas Donskoi that we would have turned.
The Vancouver Canucks will likely lose the services of young forward Kole Lind according to Rick Dhaliwal. As for another Canadian formation, the Winnipeg Jets, they would lose the forward Mason Appleton, reports Darren Dreger.
Among the Carolina Hurricanes, Francis would have preferred forward Morgan Geekie to defenseman Jake Bean, Seravalli announced on Twitter.
Quebecer Jérémy Lauzon would be elected to the Boston Bruins. The New Jersey Devils would cede big forward Nathan Bastian, while the Los Angeles Kings would also lose heavyweight defenseman Kurtis MacDermid. In San Jose, pre-Alexander True is reportedly packing up.

Among the exposed players of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Kraken would have chosen a certain Gavin Bayreuther, a 27-year-old left-handed defender. Former Montreal Canadiens center Max Domi would have been shunned.
The Anaheim Ducks would see defenseman Haydn Fleury leave their fold.
Young defenseman Will Borgen would be taken from the Buffalo Sabers. Arizona Coyotes support player Tyler Pitlick is also reportedly heading to Seattle.
The Kraken are rumored to be setting their sights on New York Rangers forward Colin Blackwell, but a trade possibly involving Mark Giordano could then ensue, so the Big Apple roster would keep their player.
Another surprise from Seattle regarding the player claimed from the Chicago Blackhawks: it would be forward and future unrestricted free agent John Quenneville, who was limited to two points in 16 games with the Rockford IceHogs last season in the American League.
Finally, the Detroit Red Wings would lose young defenseman Dennis Cholowski, revealed Mark Spector.
