Samuel Montembeault wins the January Molson Cup

The “little guy from Sainte-Gertrude” Samuel Montembeault was honored by the Montreal Canadiens hockey club on Tuesday evening before the game against the New Jersey Devils. He is the Molson Cup recipient for the January segment.

Montembeault became the first goaltender in team history to make 48 or more saves in two consecutive games (January 18 in Dallas and January 20 in Las Vegas). In nine games in January, the 25-year-old goaltender was 1-3-2, maintaining an .889 save percentage and a 4.43 goals-against average.
