Saint-Etienne supporters banned from traveling to Nice
Saint-Etienne supporters are banned from traveling to Nice on Wednesday evening for the late match of the 36th day of Ligue 1, according to a prefectural decree.
The decree dated May 9 prohibits Saint-Etienne supporters “or to anyone behaving as such” to appear at the Allianz Riviera « and in the near periphery » from 4 p.m. until midnight.
Seized by the Association for the Defense of Stéphanois supporters (AD2S), which requested the suspension of the execution of this decree, the administrative court of Nice rejected this request. The administrative judge pointed out « historical rivalry » existing between the supporters of the two clubs, which risks being « exacerbated during the match ».
