Sadio Mané’s Senegal dominates Bolivia in Orléans in a packed La Source stadium

Driven by nearly 8,000 peoplein a packed La Source stadium, Senegal dominated Bolivia (2-0), this Saturday, September 24, in a friendly preparation match for the World Cup. The reigning African champion perfectly held his rank against to the 81st world selectionthanks to a thunderous start to the match.

Boulaye Dia, Salernitana striker (Serie A)opened the scoring in the 4th minute on a heavy strike unleashed at the entrance to the Bolivian surface, countered at the start, which ended up out of reach of the South American goalkeeper (1-0). On two other long shots fired by Pape Sarr (12th, 17th), Senegal increased their hold on the game.

An overflow from Sadio Mané at the half-hour mark confirmed that the Orleans stadium was just waitinga flash of the Bayern Munich star to ignite. He came, at the end of the first period, on a full axis rushwhere he had his class admired at the same time as his ball speed. It went a little too fast for Carlos Lampe, the Bolivian goalkeeper, who hooked him, to the point of causing a penalty. Mané obviously pulled and transformed himwith a nice counter-foot (2-0, 44th).

Iran next week

Less impactful at the start of the second halfthe selection led by Aliou Cissé had to postpone some Bolivian assaults led by captain Marcelo Martins (62nd) and especially Cuellar (63rd), who crossed his shot too much, when he was ten meters from the target.

Teranga Lions made themselves again more biting in the end with good sequences from Seck (80th) and Dieng (82nd)which were unsuccessful.

The Senegalese, who had not performed in France since 2018, will continue their preparation next week in Austria against Iran.
