Kiyovu Sports once again made it to the top of the Rwandan Premier League after beating Police FC 1-0 this Sunday, February 20, 2022, in the 18th day. Eric Ngendahimana was the hero of the day with a goal scored in the second half.
It was a tough game as both teams defended valiantly and evenly throughout the first period. In the second period, Eric Ngendahimana sounded the revolt on a bombazo which saves the Kiyovu SC team which wins 1-0. Following this success, the capital club is provisionally at the top of the standings with 28 points, pending the match between APR FC and Étincelles on Monday 21 February. This is their first away win against Police FC after six games played.
In the Southern Province, Mukura Victory continued their fine form by beating Marines FC 1-0 at Huye Stadium. Vincent Habamahoro’s strike in the 38th minute secured maximum points for Mukura who now has 18 points. Meanwhile, Rutsiro FC tamed Gasogi United 2-1. Malekidogo Mumbere and Jules Watanga scored both goals for the hosts after Djibrine Hassan netted the opening goal for Gasogi United. As for Gicumbi, he was held 1-1 at home by Espoir FC.
