This is the 13th edition of Cléon S’Portes Ouvertes, a back-to-school event very popular with families. It allows you to renew memberships or find out about sports activities offered by clubs in the town of Cléon.
For the 2022 season, the twenty or so sports associations had nearly 900 members: « We must remember », specifies Rachid Arbi, deputy in charge of sports and leisure, « we were in a period of confinement and the attendance of this event was in below what we expected, nevertheless the number of members remained stable”.
This year, a dozen associations including the ice hockey club “Les Crocodiles de Cléon” will be present in the Marcel Cerdan hall of the Micheline Ostermeyer sports complex. Outside we will find; football, rugby, basketball, volleyball and tennis. For the youngest, inflatable structures will be installed.
This sports afternoon is also an opportunity for new residents to discover the sports facilities gathered in this complex. “We must also remember”, continues the sports assistant “that the city did not wish to reduce the budget allocated to the associations, in order to maintain the good sporting level of the members”.
Champions made in Cléon
During the last athlete awards ceremony, the city was proud to recall the title of champion of France 2022, in D4 Loisirs, for the hockey team « Les Crocodiles de Cléon », the 5-year contract signed between Marseille , a Ligue 1 club and Isaak Touré, from Club Olympique Cléon, captain of the France U19 football team. Thus Nina Lepetit, in Martial Arts, elected sportswoman of the year 2021 and who obtained a 3rd Duan.
