Romain Grosjean and Simon Pagenaud back in Indianapolis

IndyCar begins its most unforgettable time of the year! Until May 29, the North American championship takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for two races: the Indianapolis Grand Prix on Saturday May 13, and the legendary Indianapolis 500 Miles on Sunday May 29.
Winner of the Indianapolis Grand Prix on the infield three times since 2012, Simon Pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing) will try to find some color after a difficult start to the 2023 season.
» I can not wait to be there ! We had an instructive practice session at the end of April at the Indianapolis Oval. And then for the past few years, the Indianapolis infield circuit has been very nice to me.
I hope we can get back to the podium like we did last year (2nd after a nice ascent in the rain. Editor’s note). May is a really special time in the IndyCar season, and I love it,” declares the 38-year-old Frenchman, winner of the 500 Miles in 2019.
His compatriot Romain Grosjean (Andretti) is also in good spirits before diving into the “Month of May”. One of the fastest drivers on the grid in the spring of 2023 (2nd at Long Beach and Barber, two pole positions) is also very comfortable on the Indianapolis infield. It was there that he earned his first two podiums and his first pole in 2021 with Dale Coyne Racing.
Sign of his motivation, Romain Grosjean posted a photo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from his personal plane this Tuesday, May 9:
Made it to Indianpolis and over flew the @IMS on arrival with my plane.

« The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is an amazing place, continues Romain Grosjean. It gives a unique feeling when you get there and I have always enjoyed driving on this circuit. The Indianapolis Grand Prix has been very nice to me in the past and we have good momentum after Barber, so hopefully we can get our first win of the season in the #28 DNSFilter/DHL Honda. »
