Report: San Jose Sharks to assign rookie William Eklund to SHL

The San Jose Sharks will assign rookie William Eklund to Djurgården of the Swedish Hockey League, Athleticism Kevin Kurz reported Friday.

The 19-year-old forward was drafted seventh by the Sharks in last year’s draft and has appeared in nine games this year. In those games, he collected four assists.

In Thursday night’s loss to the St. Louis Blues, Eklund appeared on the top line alongside Logan Couture and Jonathan Dahlen.
