Relive the spectacular NASCAR race at the Trois-Rivières GP

It was a thrilling end to the weekend in Trois-Rivières, with the NASCAR Pinty’s taking center stage.

The race started with pole sitter Kevin Lacroix in control, but he couldn’t hold back Marc-Antoine Camirand, who led the first lap. Camirand made his fuel stop earlier than most, after just five laps, during a yellow flag caused by Serge Bourdeau. Alex Guénette followed suit.

JF Dumoulin passed Ranger after the restart and led his first laps of the day. The second yellow flag of the race was triggered for a contact between Glenn Styres and Wallace Stacey in Turn 9. The leaders took the opportunity to make their mandatory fuel stop. Camirand regained control of the race.

Lacroix retired from the race after 22 laps due to engine failure, finishing in a frustrating 19th place.

After a long passage under the green flag, the third neutralization of the race took place when Mathieu Kingsbury stopped on the track. This led to a brief red flag for cleanup.

The aggressiveness escalated on the following restart with a collision between Ranger and Gary Klutt in Turn 2, resulting in the race’s fourth yellow flag.

But the decisive moment came on the 58th lap. JF Dumoulin worked his way inside Camirand, taking the lead. However, this lead was short-lived as contact was made while trying to defend his position.

Dumoulin crashed into the wall and crossed the track, colliding with his brother LP, who was about to take the lead amid the chaos. Both drivers were unable to complete the race.

The race was interrupted a second time by a red flag. It lasted 11 minutes and resulted in an extension of the race. At the restart, Guénette took control of the race as Camirand suffered damage to the front left.

Alex Tagliani placed himself next to Guénette, but did not manage to pass him. Behind them, Ranger and Klutt clung again, but without leading a yellow flag.

Guénette then broke away from the pack, earning his first-ever victory in his 31st career start.

DJ Kennington finished second, followed by Camirand, Tagliani and Treyten Lapcevich in the top 5.

Sam Fellows LP Montour, Larry Jackson, Ray Courtemanche Jr. and TJ Rinomato rounded out the top 10.

Former F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve was hoping to make his first start of the season, but he didn’t even start the race due to a battery problem.
