Raja Casablanca strengthens its squad with eight new players


The Raja Casablanca club has strengthened its squad with eight new players and extended Mohamed Mekaâzi’s contract in anticipation of the next season.

The president of the club, Aziz El Badraoui announced, during a press conference held Monday in Casablanca and devoted to the presentation of the new players, that the team signed eight new profiles, namely Ismail Mokadam, Zakaria Hadraf, Mohamed Boulaksoute, Saïd Azroual, Hamza Moujahid, Youssef Haouzi, Mahmoud Bentayek and Abdelhay Al Forsi, in addition to renewing the contract of player Mohamed Makaâzi.

On this occasion, Mr. El Badraoui indicated that the club’s management will continue to recruit new players for the next season to compete in the various competitions, adding that these recruitments are part of the team’s desire to set up a framework with experience at the African level.

Regarding the recruitment of a new coach to replace Rachid Taoussi, sacked before the end of last season, the president of Raja pointed out that Faouzi Benzarti has been hired to lead the team for the next season, with the help of his compatriot Imad Ben Younes and Hicham Abou Charouane.

« The Raja team called on Benzarti because he has the experience and the audacity, as well as his ability to improve the performance of the players, » noted the president of the Casablanca club.

Faouzi Benzarti, who has previously coached Raja, has for his part made it known that he aspires to set up a homogeneous team capable of achieving good results, expressing his joy to return to the club’s bench after the 2013-2014 season. .

« I am happy to return to the club and to the Kingdom of Morocco, which I consider my second country », rejoiced the Tunisian technician, adding that he aims to start a successful season with the Green Eagles and to sign new good results that live up to the aspirations of the team’s supporters.

The new recruits of Raja Casablanca rejoiced to wear the club jersey, expressing their will and disposition to compete at the highest level and win the titles.

Raja Casablanca, which began training on Monday, will play the Botola Pro D1, the Throne Cup and the African Champions League next season.
