Quincy Promes returns to Spartak Moscow

Three and a half years after leaving him, Quincy Promes is back at Spartak Moscow where he had already played between 2014 and 2018. From Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch international attacking midfielder (29 years old, 47 caps) s’ is entered on Wednesday with the third in the Russian Championship for three and a half years, with an optional year.

According to the Dutch press, the transfer amount amounts to € 8.50 million plus € 2.50 million in bonuses. The transaction had been in the pipeline since January but it was delayed by the drafting of suspensive clauses related to the legal situation of the player, arrested last December for an assault with a knife allegedly committed in a family setting. The transfer market ends Thursday, February 25 in Russia.

Promes had been playing for eighteen months with Ajax. He had been transferred there for nearly 16 M € in the summer of 2019 from Sevilla FC, who had paid 21 M € to Spartak Moscow a year earlier.
