Once you’ve tasted it, it’s hard to give it up. The qualifying sessions Imola Heat are marked by two double pole positions in each category.

Two rounds (Le Castellet and Imola) and already two double pole positions for the #16 Team Virage Ligier JS P4 with Gillian Henrion at the controls. He set the best time of the two sessions (1:46.646 in qualifying 1 then 1:46.066 during the second session). But the battle was tight, especially in Q1, against Dimitri Enjalbert in the #17 Pegasus Racing. Just 0.067 separated the two rivals, before Gillian improved her time at the end of the session.

» At the very beginning of the first session, we had trouble getting the tires up to temperature, pointed out the person concerned. Then we started having good times. On the radio I was told that there were « three tenths » and throughout qualifying I kept pushing to try to recover these three tenths and in fact it was me who was three tenths ahead ! For the second qualifying session we changed the settings a bit and I immediately managed to set a time. Thanks to the whole team ! »

Already pole position holder in the opening round at Le Castellet, Haytham Qarajouli took his first double pole position of the season at the wheel of RLR MSport’s #75 Ligier JS2 R. A faultless performance for the young Kuwaiti driver, who won with his best times of 1:53.889 and 1:53.636. If the #4 of COOL Racing (Cédric Oltramare) secures second place in Q1, RLR MSport takes the first two places with the #40 in Q2.

» I am very happy, he said after qualifying. It was not easy, we were subjected to extreme heat conditions. The car felt great and I was confident to be able to try and go for a time. It won’t be easy in the race. There is a lot of competition. The circuit is very technical and we have to play it strategically but without taking any risks. Thanks to RLR MSport who prepared an exceptional car. It is an honor to represent Kuwait in the series. »
