Progress Transfers and 60 fps for GTA 5 and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series – News

Like any good game cross genGTA 5 will offer several graphics settings, three in this case, to adjust the visual experience to your preferences.

  • Loyalty mode is designed for optimal visual quality by aiming for 30 fps and native 4K resolution with ray-tracing enabled on PS5 and Series X; the editor speaks of 4K optimized in the case of the Series S.
  • Performance Mode is designed to offer a gaming experience tending towards 60 fps, in 4K optimized on PS5 and Series X, and in 1080p on Series S.
  • Performance RT mode reserved for the PS5 and Xbox Series X duo, for a hybrid setting of Fidelity and Performance modes supporting optimized 4K resolution, with ray-tracing enabled and 60 fps in the viewfinder.

The editor also mentions more general improvements, such as optimized loading times, greater density / variety of pedestrians and traffic, greater density of vegetation and better management of the treatment of shadows, water reflections and more generally luminosity. Still on a visual level, the game will also benefit from better anti-aliasing, nuances in handling motion blur and improved explosion effects. In the case of the PS5 version, the publisher also plans to exploit the haptic features of the DualSense, applied to weather conditions, collisions, different coatings, explosions and so on. The audio features of the machines will also be taken into consideration for better sound spatialization.

As for GTA Online, the move to next-gen will bring a whole range of new vehicles and a new addition to the Los Santos fleet: the Hao’s Special Works. This workshop features best-in-class vehicle upgrades, a new race class featuring specially modified vehicles, and weekly rotating time trials. It will be possible to try some of the revised and corrected vehicles for free through a Premium test.

As previously announced by the publisher, GTA Online will also be available for the first time as a standalone title on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; it will therefore be possible to access it without first purchasing GTA 5. During the first three months following the launch, GTA Online can be downloaded and kept for free for PlayStation 5 players. GTA Online will also offer various improvements in terms of ergonomics, in particular a new introduction and a new tutorial for beginners, a new main menu to directly access the different modes (read , heists, races, weekly events, etc.).

Transfer under conditions

And since we obviously don’t want to harm tens of millions of players too much, PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to transfer both their progress in Story mode in GTA 5, but also their progress in GTA Online to the PS5 and Xbox Series. X|S, or console to console, « on the basis of a single migration for each« . Another important asterisk: players will only be able to transfer their purchased GTA$ when migrating from PS4 to PS5, or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Budding robbers can start the process now, starting to transfer their progress to Story Mode by uploading a save to the Social Club. You will need to launch GTA V on your current console account, then put the game on Pause to go to the Pause tab. This is where you will need to select the Download game save option. The publisher specifies that players will only be able to store one game save per platform at a time, and that the saves will remain available for download for as long as 90 days.

Players with a Rockstar Games Social Club account will also be able to migrate their GTA Online character progress to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S on March 15 by sideloading the game on the new consoles. Last but not least, pre-orders such as preloading will be launched from March 8, while the physical versions will point the tip of their nose during the month of April.
