David Roberts, named head of NBA programming last week, said in a statement that it was « a mutual agreement, in the best interests of all parties. »  »

Nichols wrote on Twitter, “I got to create a show and for five years I rubbed shoulders with some of my dearest people, talking about one of my favorite things. Thank you eternally to our fabulous producers and members of the technical team.

» The Jump was not supposed to last, but we had a lot of fun. To be continued, ”she concluded.

ESPN will have a new daily show dedicated to the NBA.

Nichols had a place of choice at ESPN since 2016, with « The Jump », but also interventions near the field, in particular.

In July, Nichols was at the heart of a controversy over remarks about Maria Taylor, a former colleague, who has since moved on to NBC.

During the NBA Finals, ESPN cast Malika Andrews in the role once occupied by Nichols.
