Born in Ziar nad Hronom, Slovakia on February 11, 1995, Milan Skriniar is – what you might call – a young football prodigy. After just one season with his hometown club, he joined MSK Zilina at the age of 12. Quickly, the young Milan impresses with his physical maturity and his defensive intelligence, especially on placements and interventions. This rapid development allowed him to make his professional debut in the Slovak Super Liga on March 27, 2012 at just 17 years and 49 days old against FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce.

As a symbol, he will go on loan for half a season at this Slovak first division club in Zlaté Moravce to rack up minutes during the 2012-2013 season. Only seven small appearances there, and Skriniar returned to Zilina to stay for two and a half seasons where he continued his rise, before joining Italy in the 2016 winter transfer window.
