Premier League clubs’ interest in Asensio revealed

Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio would prefer a move to AC Milan as Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in him.

Asensio believes he would be more assured of a starting spot with the Italian Serie A champions.

The 26-year-old, who is out of contract next summer at Real Madrid, will likely be available at a discount during this transfer window.

According to Spanish publication Sport, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp likes Asensio but the player is uncertain of a move to the Premier League giants due to concerns over a starting spot in the Reds’ starting XI.

Liverpool are looking to bolster their attacking options following Sadio Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich.

Despite losing Mane in the summer, Liverpool have a wealth of attacking talent, including Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and new signing Darwin Nunez.

It is this list of players that would have convinced Asensio, who was not an indisputable starter at Real Madrid last season, that a transfer to AC Milan would be more beneficial for his career.
