Man of the match: Bukayo Saka (6.5): very hard-hitting, the young English winger drove Danny Rose crazy. He brought a real plus especially during the first period which was quite dull. Saka continues on his good start to the season and shows that he has become an indefatigable player in Arteta’s 11. Replaced by Martinelli (93 ‘).

Arsenal (4-4-1-1)

Ramsdale (5.5) : The Gunners’ doorman didn’t have much to do. However, he exudes a serenity that is good for Arsenal’s rearguard. Small hazardous exit at the end of the match which could have allowed King to equalize.

Tomiyasu (6) : serene and solid, two words that describe very well the entire defense of Arsenal, very good defensively, he also contributed offensively by doubling and addressing rather interesting centers.

White (6) : boss of this defense, Ben White mocked and mocked at the start of the season seems far away. His pair with Gabriel is homogeneous and very solid once again. At 24, White gradually took this defensive leadership position that Arsenal lacked. He is also at the origin of Smith-Rowe’s goal thanks to his rise with the ball at the foot.

Gabriel (5) : Just as solid as White, Gabriel finally wins in this team. Be careful all the same with the aggressiveness which could play tricks on him in matches with more pressure.

Tavares (6) : Very offensive, the Portuguese played more piston than lateral, he however made differences with the ball in the foot and also ran a lot to compensate for his climbs. He has been a real danger and will certainly continue to improve to become a top side.

Saka (6.5) : see above.

Lokonga (5.5) : it was everywhere. True human lung, he was on all the balls, clean ball in the foot, he did good for Arsenal and put off the transitions of Watford.

Maitland-Niles (6) : Very little waste, he fluidized many balls, he notably made the transition between attack and defense and was also very good defensively with 6 duels won out of 7.

Smith-Rowe (6) : His goal allows him to save his match, invisible in the first period, he was able to make up for it by scoring the only goal of the game allowing Arsenal to leave with 3 points. Little error on the ball but not enough to really have an impact in the game. Replaced by Elneny (86 ‘).

Lacazette (6.5) : Lacazette succeeded in everything he undertook, he came down a lot and each time managed to bring the ball back up, he was the source of support for his team and asked for the ball when his team needed him. He even got a penalty, replaced a little early by Odegaard (68 ‘) which, however, made a very good entry.

Aubameyang (4) : invisible, no impact in the game, Aubameyang had a hard time being found (30 balls touched) and also missed a penalty which would have allowed Arsenal to open the scoring much earlier. A match for him to forget.

Watford (4-1-4-1)

Foster (6.5) : Watford’s best player, the English goalkeeper saved the penalty and also made other important saves. He can’t do much on goal and allowed Watford to do very well with only one conceded goal.

Kiko (5) : fairly neutral, was not as flamboyant as Tavares for example, nevertheless he was not ridiculous.

Cathcart (4.5) : communication problem with N’Koulou which brings the goal of the meeting. Replaced by Fletcher (93 ‘).

Nkulu (5.5) was more reassuring that Cathcart the two lack automatism, it is only N’Koulou’s second game this season in the Pemier League, however he was convincing and with a better break-in he could be better.

Pink (4.5) : A took the water against saka, conceded a penalty, was not horrible with the ball but his defensive level during this match prevents his score from being higher.

Sissoko (5) : held out even if he could have done better at certain times, his performance is still fairly average despite everything.

Sarr (4.5) : did not achieve much, the technical leader of this team was not very inspired. Even worse: it disappeared over the course of the match being less and less impactful.

Kucka (4.5): an interesting first period, he plunged completely in the second part of the match and even received a red card (89 ‘) to tarnish his second act a little more.

Tufan (5): He was not a real danger in this game and was like his team, average and lackluster. Replaced by Joao Pedro (62 ‘) who didn’t do much.

Denis (5.5): the only one who gave a little sparks and who tried to do something with the ball, it probably did not please his trainer who took it out to bring in Hernandez (74 ‘) who followed the plan to the letter: do nothing with the ball.

King (4) : He took a cue from his gunner counterpart Aubameyang and was also completely invisible, except that for King his team lost.
