Will Power ends Monday in first place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, while Stefan Wilson is in the hospital.

After qualifying, it’s time for the race. On the Indianapolis Motor Speedway all teams now have their eyes on the race. Will Power set the benchmark time for the two-hour session in 39.2633 seconds at an average of 229.222 mph. The Team Penske rider, winner of the 500 Miles in 2018, is ahead of Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, Álex Palou and Tony Kanaan for the top 5.

We had a vibration problem. I think we managed to get over it. We rode in front, in the peloton and at the back and I think our single-seater is good. I think we are well placed.

The 33 pilots qualified for this edition of the 500 Miles have completed 2005 laps, or just over 5000 miles covered. Shortly after mid-session an accident between Stefan Wilson and Katherine Legge forced the officials to raise the red flag. If Katherin Legge was able to get out of her single-seater without assistance, she was evaluated at the circuit medical center.

As for Stefan Wilson, it was the members of the AMR INDYCAR Safety Team who extracted him from his single-seater before sending him to a hospital in Indianapolis for additional examinations.

The final practice session will take place this Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
